Despite being around for a few years, it looks as though Jack’s Corner Pub is now gone. At least, it is gone as we know it. This is because a local recently found a ‘for sale’ sign on the front door of the building. It looks like many residents around the area can now breathe a sigh of release as it will no longer be operating under the previous owner. At this point, it is not known whether it will be sold at all, but the good news is that change is coming.

This comes after a lot of controversy surrounding the pub. In recent it has been the source of various crimes and nuisances within the neighborhood. Just one year ago, Columbus locals filed a petition to get it closed. More recently, the city also sued the establishment for being a public nuisance.

Just yesterday, a Reddit thread showed that the pub was up for sale. This prompted a discussion surrounding the venue, with many seemingly happy with the news of its sale. Based on this reaction, the new owner will clearly have their work cut out to improve the reputation of the establishment which may not be easy.

Just a few weeks ago, the city requested the classification of the pub as a ‘public nuisance‘ and to initiate permanent closure.

Per official legal records, Jack’s Corner Pub has been subject to 38 separate calls to the Columbus Police over the past two years, encompassing incidents such as reports of gunfire, drug overdoses, and altercations both within and in the vicinity of the establishment.
