Local businessman lambasts Kshama Sawant – Says ‘Clean up this damn city!’
Yesterday during a council meeting a local businessman named Michael Asai lambasted Seattle councilmember Kshama Sawant. This took place during a public meeting that he attended, and he did not hold back. During his tirade, he claimed that “Kshama Sawant has used the black pain to further her socialist agenda”
Asai’s criticisms were filmed and uploaded on to Twitter. Here, he claimed that his medicinal cannabis business had been shut down by Sawant in 2016 after six years of business. After the incident, Sawant was filmed while getting into her car but sheepishly declined to comment. The video can be seen below.
The Twitter comments also agreed with Asai, with one Seattle resident writing: “That’s what I’m talking about, its going to take that level of fight to get them to change. Start cleaning these cities up.” This came days after Seattle passed a new drugs bill that was designed to tackle public drug use. Here, Sawant had opposed the bill which is where Asai’s anger may have stemmed from. Ironically, she was previously in favor of closing his legal cannabis business. He also claimed that she was hiding behind race to push socialist ideologies, which he was staunchly against.
Over on Reddit, it seems that support for Sawant was also wearing thin. Here, a large thread mostly praised Asai with one member writing: “I hope this clip never dies. This guy nailed it.” With this said it looks like Sawant’s time in power may finally be coming to an end.
