Popular Orange County Bubble Tea Shop to close permanently
Omomo’s Alton location is closing down. Its final day of opening will be on September 25th and after that, it will be gone forever. According to an Instagram update, this was due to a dispute with the landlord surrounding rent. Fortunately for bubble tea lovers, Omomo still has three other shops in nearby locations. Nonetheless, if you live near Alton then you may be annoyed to hear this news.
On Instagram, they wrote: “We are saddened to share that 9/24 will be our LAST DAY of operations at our Alton location. After months of tedious negotiations with our landlord, we simply no longer believe the space is suitable for us.” The full statement can be read below:
With this being said, the closure doesn’t sound like it’s due to the shop failing. In other words, Omomo could still expand to new locations. Nonetheless, its Alton shop will no longer be operating. Still, there is a good chance that another Irvine shop will open at some point down the line. The closing down announcement prompted hundreds of likes and comments with members of the Orange County community praising the shop for its service and bubble tea over the years. Here, one user summed it up perfectly when they said: “But it gets so much business! I’m so sorry for you guys to deal with this.”
Hopefully, Omomo will find a new location sooner rather than later.
