Wok N Talk Closed by City of Boston Licensing Board

September 20, 2023 by No Comments

Surprisingly, the Wok N Talk restaurant recently got shut down by the licensing board for the city of Boston. This was shown by a display in the restaurant’s window that read: ‘Closed!’ in large lettering. It should be noted, that this is not the same as closing due to health reasons and is generally less serious. Typically when this sort of closure happens it is due to lacking certain permits and or a locked door that shouldn’t be, rather than due to sanitation issues.

Since the closure, Wok N Talk has not explained the situation online so if you’re heading there to eat then you may be in for a rude awakening if you were unaware. The sign was originally posted on Reddit by a confused Boston resident.

Originally opened in 2015, Wok N Talk is unsurprisingly a wok-based restaurant in the S Huntington Ave neighborhood of the city. Despite running for almost 10 years, it doesn’t have the best reviews on Yelp where it currently has a score of 2.6/5 meaning that most people find it average.

Regardless of this, even if you wanted to try it then you won’t be able to for the foreseeable future anyway. It is not known how long Wok N Talk will be closed for. However, if it is something as simple as an expired permit then it could be a matter of days until it is resolved. Having said this, if it is something more serious then it could be months until the restaurant opens again.
