Popular Asian Restaurant announces closure of Stafford venue
Yesterday, Kim Son announced via social media that its Stafford venue would be permanently closing with Sunday being its final day. Luckily for fans of the chain, there will still be several other locations dotted around Houston. Nonetheless, this news may be disappointing for those where this was their nearest location.
On their Instagram account, Kim Son started by saying: “Dear valued customers and friends, it is with a heavy heart that we announce the closure of Kim Son Stafford, after serving our community for so many wonderful years. We want to express our deepest gratitude for your loyal support and patronage throughout this incredible journey.”
On Instagram, this statement gained nearly 1000 likes and various locals commented on it giving Kim Son their best wishes. Over the years, this venue gained hundreds of positive reviews and was a firm favorite with locals who enjoy Vietnamese cuisine. On a positive note, it also announced that its Bellaire location would be serving Dim Dum from early October.
Interestingly, Kim Son did not announce why they were closing. However, as their other branches remain open it looks like this decision was financially motivated and may be due to rising rents in the area. This venue has been open since 1999 so it’s fair to say that it has been around for a considerable amount of time.
