Tiger Sugar, the well-known milk tea and boba chain recognized for its visually captivating beverages resembling tiger stripes, has just opened its inaugural store in the Columbus region. The international boba franchise is situated at 878 Bethel Rd., which was previously occupied by Spicy Hop.

According to one review, there was even a three-hour wait for yesterday’s grand opening, which shows just how popular bubble tea is these days. The grand opening happened at midday and the first 50 customers got a free plush. With this said Tiger Sugar will be hoping that every day is like its opening. However, time will tell if it can do better than the aforementioned Spicy Hop.

Originating in Taiwan in 2019, Tiger Sugar specializes in brown sugar-infused boba, carefully handcrafted to create a distinctive presentation with colored layers that mimic the striking stripes of a tiger. In recent years, boba tea has exploded in popularity across the globe. On a similar note, it will also be interesting to see how Tiger Sugar stands up against rival boba tea venues in the area.

Recently, the brand has experienced significant growth in the United States, with operational outlets in over 25 states. However, it’s noteworthy that Tiger Sugar currently maintains only one other store in Ohio, situated in West Chester Township.
