Yesterday, residents of Columbus were surprised to witness robust military aircraft soaring through the suburban skies. It’s not an everyday occurrence, and it’s perfectly natural to feel a sense of bewilderment upon spotting them. Generally speaking with Osprey’s you will also hear them before you see them as well, as they have been known for being incredibly noisy.

These aircraft are identified as MV-22 Ospreys and were spotted in Downtown Columbus and Hilliard. Sometimes, these are used for military exercises and have even been used to transport President Joe Biden in the past.

Speaking of which, the MV-22 Osprey is not a budget-friendly option either. Each of these aircraft is estimated to have a price tag of approximately $85 million, which means the individual who captured those images was observing an expenditure of over $165 million.

Unfortunately, little is known as to why two Osprey’s decided to fly over Columbus yesterday. However, it could have been a case of training drills or transporting a VIP. In other words, it’s nothing to worry about. Sometimes, the military will not always give away its reasons and acts in secrecy. However, what is known is that it’s unlikely that you’ll see Osprey’s over Columbus again. At least, you probably won’t see them for the foreseeable future.
