Founded in 2020, Sushi Karma has gone on to receive mostly positive reviews from the Kansas City community. However, its response to recent negative reviews has been highlighted and locals aren’t happy with the lack of professionalism.

While no business owner likes to receive negative reviews, they are a common part of business when operating a restaurant. The responses to criticism were recently displayed in this Reddit thread. Here, there were numerous screenshots of their responses which were captioned by a user writing: “I just wanted everyone to know how unprofessional the owner of Sushi Karma in Mission is. If you are bored I highly recommend reading through the reviews.”

Here, responses seemed to border on attacking and personal, rather than responding to criticism constructively. For instance, this response even uses cuss words and insults against the customer. Furthermore, this led to Reddit users claiming that the Sushi Karma owner also paid for positive Google reviews in order to give off a good reputation.

It should be noted at this point that these are merely allegations that are unfounded and sometimes, the Reddit community can jump to the wrong conclusions. Nonetheless, the review responses are not professional. It should also be pointed out that some users in the thread were also complimentary towards the restaurant, claiming that the food was decent. With this said, this shows that sometimes reviews can be very subjective.
