In a surprising turn of events, the cherished neighborhood bakery, Jacivas has sadly announced that it will soon be closing its doors for the last time. For nearly four decades, Jacivas has been a pillar of the community, filling the air with the sweet scent of freshly baked goods and bringing smiles to the faces of locals. Here, it has often supplied Portland residents with birthday and wedding cakes for years.

On their website, Jacivas wrote: “It is with a heavy heart that we are announcing JaCiva’s Bakery will be closing its doors. What a pleasure it’s been serving our Portland community for 37 years and we will miss being a part of your celebrations. At this point, we are continuing business as supplies last. We are operating on a walk-in or same-day-order basis and products will be first come first serve. We have been busy making fresh tortes, chocolates, and other baked goods for our beloved community so please come visit us one last time. We love you!”

The announcement was also made on their Instagram page which garnered over 100 comments from Portland residents. Here, many paid their respects and condolences to the business which has literally served generations of Portlanders. Aside from the announcement to close (when stocks run out), Jacivas did not give a reason as to why they were closing which may be to do with financial or personal reasons.
