If you’re a fan of the King Of The Coop chicken shop then sadly we have some bad news. This is because yesterday, they announced their closure on Facebook. In a lengthy post, they thanked the customers for years of support and also confirmed the closure by writing: “It is with a very sad and heavy heart that we share we have made the difficult decision to close our doors in St. Pete and SoHo.”

Unlike some closures, King Of The Coop did not announce this decision days in advance, meaning that if you wanted to go one last time then this was not possible. However, their statement did mention other locations that are slightly further afield.

Since opening over 5 years ago, King Of The Coop had earned a solid reputation in the St. Petersburg area and has enjoyed positive reviews from the local community. It’s unsurprising then, that locals used the Facebook post to pay tribute and give their condolences to part of the business closing. King Of The Coop was best known for serving Nashville-style burgers that were big on flavor and could be very spicy. Like many fast food restaurants, they seem to have fallen victim to the changing economic climate that has swept across the USA in recent years.

Interestingly, King Of The Coop did not give a reason for the closure so it still remains a mystery as to why they made the decision.
