A locally owned coffee shop named Hydra has just opened its doors for business in Rochester. The menu boasts a selection of freshly baked treats crafted in-house, such as muffins, scones, and delectable desserts. Additionally, they offer classic breakfast sandwiches served on hearty rolls sourced from Giuseppe’s in Gates, with options including plain or everything rolls.

Hydra’s interior decor embraces a natural aesthetic with earthy tones, live edge tables, and an abundance of greenery, including succulents housed in handcrafted terracotta pots. The establishment provides ample seating across two levels, and the upstairs landing showcases a mural reminiscent of postcards featuring local landmarks, skillfully designed by artists from the community, Billy T. Lyons and Hannah Stollberger.

It’s still early days but so far, Hydra’s has received excellent reviews on Google with many Rochester residents seemingly loving what is on offer.

Hydra Coffeehouse, located at 701 Monroe Ave., commenced operations on September 5th. It operates daily from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Convenient parking is accessible in the shared lot with Dogtown. The patio is situated at ground level, while entry into the building and access to the second floor involves the use of stairs. So, if you’re a caffeine lover and you live in Rochester then feel free to check this place out, as it could be your next favorite coffee shop.
