Yesterday, an image was uploaded to Reddit that showed a life-like face appearing in the plumes of the Kilauea volcano eruption. Here, the face appeared to be smiling.

The Kilauea volcano in Hawaii recently resumed its eruptive activity after a pause lasting approximately two months. This renewed eruption has resulted in the expulsion of molten lava streams and has prompted emergency authorities to elevate the volcano’s alert status.

Kilauea, which stands as one of the world’s most consistently active volcanoes, has now experienced its third eruption event this year. The current alert level for the volcano has been raised from “watch” to “warning,” while the aviation advisory level has been upgraded to “red,” as reported by the Hawaii Emergency Management Agency.

This latest eruption of the Kilauea volcano commenced at approximately 3:18 pm local Hawaiian time on a Sunday, originating from the Halemaʻumaʻu crater situated within the national park on the Big Island.

Pele is a prominent figure in Hawaiian mythology and is often referred to as the goddess of volcanoes, fire, lightning, wind, and dance. She is one of the most well-known and revered deities in Hawaiian culture. Pele is believed to reside in the Halemaʻumaʻu crater at the summit of Kīlauea, one of the active volcanoes on the Big Island of Hawaii.

According to Hawaiian mythology, Pele is both a creative and destructive force. She is responsible for the creation of the Hawaiian Islands, as legend has it that she dug and formed the islands with her digging stick and lava flow. However, she is also known for her fiery and temperamental personality, which can lead to volcanic eruptions and destruction.
