Last night, a themed nightclub opened for the first time in Augusta. Named Miami Vybz, this was based on the Miami club scene which is famous throughout the country. Situated on 8th and Broad, its grand opening featured EDM from 8-11 PM, followed by R&B and Hip Hop from 11 PM to 2 AM. This nightclub had been months in the making and its grand opening was apparently a sell-out. Despite this, not everyone was happy. On the review website Yelp, a total of two negative reviews had been posted over the last few days. Here, one person wrote: “The dress code is only enforced to certain people, if you know the owner you can get in apparently.”

The other review read: “If you aren’t from the area you wouldn’t know what you are getting into. Very overpriced for what you get and the venue is very basic for the prices paid. Management can be very rude and some workers make it clear they don’t want to be there. I don’t recommend.”

It should be known that sometimes reviews can be overly-critical and some customers may leave grudge reviews out of spite rather than genuine criticism. Based on this, it may be unfair to write this nightclub off just yet.

Nonetheless, it doesn’t look good for the long run but as is often the case with restaurants and night clubs, time will tell and ultimately, the public will decide whether this business is worthy of its spot for providing Augusta with entertainment.
