A recent Reddit thread spilled the tea on a popular Greensboro coffee shop. Here, a supposedly leaked screenshot from a work chat alleged that the owner of Green Bean cafe ‘didn’t believe in the living wage’ while also going on to call it a ‘construct.’

It should be known that these claims aren’t proven yet but it didn’t stop hundreds of Reddit users from commenting on the situation. Here, they believed the screenshot to be real and weren’t happy about it. According to this website, the living wage for a single, Greensboro adult is $16.82 per hour, while the minimum wage is set at $7.25.

In the aforementioned thread, users also claimed that workers at the coffee shop had resigned en masse. Once again though, this cannot be confirmed nor denied at this point. Interestingly, the coffee shop in question has solid reviews on Tripadvisor and has successfully been running for several years now. Of course, this does not mean that the allegations are true or not. As of the time of writing, the Green Bean coffee shop has not yet commented on the ongoing situation. Regardless, even if the allegations are incorrect it is still not a good look for public relations and may damage the reputation of the shop.
