Heisler Park in Laguna Beach enforces new strict laws

Over at Heisler Park in Laguna Beach (Orange County), strict new laws have been introduced to curtail certain behaviors. This was spotted by one eagle-eyed visitor who took a photo of a sign that was put up by the City Of Laguna Beach. This read: ‘Not allowed. Luxury picnic setup. Large proposal setup. Structures. Tables & Chairs. Open flames.’

Interestingly though, the sign did say that wedding ceremonies, commercial film, and still photography were allowed with a permit. This photo was originally uploaded to Reddit where users mostly congratulated the new rules and saw them as beneficial for the area. This park dates back to the early 1900s.

According to the Heisler Park section of Laguna Beach’s website, it does offer 5 BBQs, picnic tables, and restrooms. With this said, picnics are allowed but not overly lavish ones. According to the aforementioned Reddit thread, users claimed that too many people invaded the park and left behind a mess while also being quite noisy. One user jokingly wrote: “No influencers having luxury picnics and making tik tok videos? Great now I have no use for my loud tuba.” Based on this, it seems like these rules are mostly favored by locals who see them as a sensible move rather than a case of red tape gone mad.
