Mosi, which is located at 4801 E Fowler Ave. and is often referred to as “MOSI,” is hosting a special event called the “Science of the Cuban Sandwich.” This event, taking place next weekend, pays homage to Tampa’s iconic dish, the Cuban sandwich.
This evening gathering at the museum promises a lively experience, featuring live entertainment, a culinary competition among participating restaurants to determine the best Cuban sandwich, exciting raffles, beverage pairings, and an intriguing science demonstration aimed at unveiling the secrets behind crafting the perfect Cuban sandwich.
The event will delve into various scientific principles, including the physics of bread baking, the chemistry behind sandwich fillings, and the biology of taste and flavor.
Mosi’s “Science of the Cuban Sandwich” event is scheduled for Saturday, September 16, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Ticket prices are set at $20 for MOSI members and $25 for non-members, with attendance limited to individuals aged 18 and above.
Although the participants in the Cuban sandwich competition have not been disclosed yet, Mosi has announced its panel of judges who will determine the ultimate winner. This distinguished lineup includes Temple Terrace Mayor Andy Ross, Tampa Bay Times writer Maggie Duffy, radio host Pat Donovan, and others.
