Last night, an image was uploaded onto the website Imgur that showed the aftermath of a car crashing into the Sabine Street bridge. Here, it is assumed that the car had veered off the road and crashed directly into the bridge wall next to the trees. This happened in the evening and a rescue crew quickly recovered the vehicle.

As seen in the image below, a large crowd gathered to watch the aftermath of this shocking scene. By the morning, the wreckage had been cleaned up, however, the destroyed area of the bridge remains roped off from the public.

At this moment in time, it is not known what happened to the driver, or whether the car had any passengers on board. Thankfully, no pedestrians were hit and this crash took place near the trees. However, it could still have led to serious or potentially fatal injuries. This shows just how important it is to stay focused when driving and that keeping to the speed limit is of vital importance.

On the positive side of things, had this taken place in the middle of the bridge then it could have been far worse. Regardless, the status of the driver remains unknown and we wish them well. With this in mind, we will keep you updated as the story progresses.
