For many years San Francisco has been known for its fog. While this is not a positive thing for the most part, it did make for an extremely cool photo over the weekend. Here, a snap-happy San Franciscan captured the wall of fog which looked similar to the tidal wave from the movie Interstellar. This was taken at the top of a hill which showed the fog covering most of downtown San Francisco.

In short, it’s not every day that you see something like this, so it’s good that someone was able to take a photograph and capture nature’s glory. This wasn’t the only photo of the fog that was snapped, however it was arguably the pick of the bunch due to the angle and scale that it captured.

This photo was taken over Ingleside and the fog could be seen from miles away. Often referred to as ‘Karl‘, San Francisco’s fog is infamous due to its iconic imagery. It has often been captured shrouding the Golden Gate Bridge and often makes for great photography opportunities.

Perhaps what makes this particular photo so special is the slanted houses which almost give it an optical illusion that is reminiscent of an abstract art piece. Sadly, Karl has since passed. So, if you wanted to take your own photo then unfortunately you’ll have to wait until next time.
