It’s fair to say that Maria’s Pizza is highly regarded as a Milwaukee institution and has been standing on the same corner for decades. Unfortunately, Maria’s Pizza closed in June 2022 after over 60 years of business. So, to see it return to all its glory is a sight that will warm the hearts of Milwaukee locals.

Here, the blue raspberry soda pitchers were fan favorites, while the pizza recipes also won high praise. Similarly, the old-style decor was also equally as iconic. However, time marches on and now it seems as though the joint has new owners.

As seen in the statement made above, a new family will be taking over and keeping the restaurant going. However, it is not yet known who will take over Maria’s, and whether they will keep it the same. Nonetheless, the sensible business decision appears to be keeping with the old style and recipes that made it some famous in the first place.

According to this article from last year, Maria’s originally closed down due to being short-staffed. However, the owners also claimed that they had a number of offers on the table for potential buyers. Fast forward over one year later, and now it looks as though those talks have been finalized and Maria’s is back in business. An official open date is still yet to be announced.
