It’s not every day a gigantic tree gets completely uprooted. Then again, it’s not every day that a storm as powerful as Idalia comes to town. The image below was taken in the morning after the storm and shows just how powerful the storm was, as well as the damage and aftermath caused to the city.

Thankfully, this incident seemed to happen overnight and no one was injured. However, if this had happened during the day with drivers on the road then it could have ended with a fatality. If nothing else, this should serve as a timely reminder to respect the force of nature and just how dangerous it can be.

Looking closely at the tree, this was completely dragged from the ground as well. What’s even more impressive is that it was a pretty big tree too, showing just how devastating and powerful the storm actually was.

This took place on 50th and Habersham and in general, Ardsley got hit hard by the storm. Unfortunately, this was not the only tree in the area to go down. Thankfully however, crews have since visited the area and a big clean-up job is currently underway. If nothing else, this tree should also represent the dangers of being outside during storms. As Idalia is not yet over, it’s a good idea to exercise caution when out and about.
