Yesterday, it was publically announced that Sherlock’s pub in Addison was closed for good. This was also confirmed via its Google profile, which stated the establishment was ‘Permanently closed’. According to the official statement, Sherlock’s had been open for over 20 years and had employed hundreds of Texas during that time. Although the statement was heartfelt and emotional, it did not state why it was closing down.

This was announced on their official Facebook page which garnered over 1000 likes and over 600 comments. Here, locals paid their respect to the beloved venue that has served as a community hub for over two decades.

One Dallas native named Jon Rodriguez commented on their Facebook post: “Thanks for the memories and the space to create those memories. God bless you on your future endeavors.” The sentiments of this message were shared by many others who collectively praised the pub for its colorful atmosphere and welcoming ambiance.

This comes a few years after the Arlington Sherlock’s location and most of the Houston ones have also perished. Sadly, the Addison one has now gone as well. With this said, hopefully something equally as nice can replace Sherlock’s. However, we also acknowledge that this may be a hard task and that Dallas has certainly lost one of its most iconic pubs.
