New restaurants on the way for Cedar Rapids town center

Westdale Town Center is gearing up for the introduction of a pair of novel dining establishments in the near future.

One of these newcomers is Crab House Seafood Boil & Bar, an apparent independent venture. This establishment has recently embarked on a promotional campaign revealing its intended site at 2360 Edgewood Rd. SW, Suite 100. According to its Google listing, the projected commencement date is set for November 1st. While this enticing eatery has generated anticipation, there are currently no additional particulars available.

Saucy Focaccia, the former occupant of the space, concluded its nearly decade-long run in December. Citing economic challenges as a driving factor, owner Paul Andreasen took a similar step with the family-run Breakfast Bar in Hiawatha, which ceased operations in less than two years.

Sharing the spotlight, Crab House will be part of a cohort of upcoming Westdale Town Center arrivals. Boulder Tap House, having recently shuttered its Lindale Mall branch, is poised for a fresh chapter with a stand-alone establishment at 4515 Westdale Pkwy. SW. Although the website indicates an impending opening, an exact date remains undisclosed. With a presence spanning nine locales throughout Minnesota and Iowa, Boulder Tap House seeks to add another feather to its cap.

Napoli’s Italian Restaurant, hailing from Marion, is also diversifying its horizons by establishing a secondary outlet within the western shopping hub. This upcoming location will occupy the space previously held by Noodles & Company. Anticipated to debut in the upcoming fall season, the expansion demonstrates the evolving culinary landscape of Westdale Town Center in Cedar Rapids.
