Car crashes into front window of Des Moines coffee shop
On Saturday, a white Kia car collided with the Northern Vessel coffee shop on Keo Way.
In a social media update shared on Saturday afternoon, the well-loved local establishment conveyed that it is “temporarily closed” until further notice. Images posted on Instagram revealed that the incident was a “narrow escape” and resulted in one person sustaining an injury.
The post highlighted that the situation had the potential to be much more severe. Renowned for its commitment to kindness and warm service, the coffee shop expressed optimism about what lies ahead.
Northern Vessel, a destination that gained popularity since its inauguration last November, drew in crowds of patrons who gathered within its well-lit interior to savor the distinctive cold brew and cold brew latte concoctions. Just recently, Northern Vessel unveiled an exciting collaboration involving canned cold brew in partnership with the independent Iowa State University NIL nonprofit organization, We Will Collective.
On a final note, hopefully it isn’t too soon until Northern Vessel opens its doors again, as it will certainly be missed until then. Although frustrating, thankfully this incident was relatively minor and could have gone a lot worse under different circumstances. Sometimes in life, you have to focus on the positives.
