According to a Reddit user, Principal Financial Group will be removing remote work for those living within a 30-mile radius of their Des Moines headquarters. This news was broken on the popular forum Reddit where one user allegedly got this news from their sister-in-law.

Here, the user wrote: “Just heard from my sister-in-law that everyone within 30 miles of downtown Des Moines is now required to come into the office. I’m not sure how many days or if there are exceptions if you were hired to be 100% remote. Sounds like a pretty bad thing to do for those that live within 29.9 miles but if you live within 30.1 congratulations, apparently you are fine working remotely. She’s not happy and will probably be looking elsewhere since Principal already pays the lowest in her field (IT).”

As seen by the tone of the message, this person was not very happen with the change in work arrangements. As Principal Financial Group employs a number of Iowans, this news may also be greeted with a similar response by others in the area. Another Reddit user claimed that those working remotely were now obligated to do at least three working days in the office. As mentioned however, Principal Financial Group has yet to confirm this.
