Popular Iowa City restaurant to return for one night only

In 2021, Iowa City lost one of its most popular restaurants as Dumpling Darling closed its doors for good. This was due to a poor financial year and a struggle for business. Unsurprisingly, Iowans were upset with this as it had good reviews and a stellar reputation.

Having said this, it’s now two years later and Dumpling Darling recently announced that they would be returning for one night only in the near future. To be more precise, the popular eatery is returning on August 18th and will be open from 5 PM until they sell out. They are set to be located at Goosetown and have promised dumplings, beer, and sweets.

Having said this, it also mentioned having a limited menu, and once the food is gone, it’s gone. The news was well received online, with one Iowan saying this on their official Facebook page: “Thank you! I loved those chipotle tofu dumplings and I’m so excited to have the chance to taste them again. I also loved your vegan kimchi fried rice and Brussels sprouts if you’re taking requests.”

Unfortunately, this will just be a one-off though, so don’t expect it to turn into a permanent fixture. Nonetheless, fans of dumplings have been rejoicing around the city as this truly was one of the nicest around when it comes to authentic, Asian cuisine.
