Coralville locals make RAGBRAI riders stop

Coralville—RAGBRAI commenced its journey across Iowa on a Saturday morning, starting near Sioux City. This year’s RAGBRAI will see approximately 45,000 participants. Towns along the route have been diligently preparing for the riders, and Coralville is no exception.

City officials are in the process of setting up a rest stop for the riders at S.T. Morrison Park, which will include:

  • Camping areas
  • Park vendors
  • Beverage garden
  • A main stage
  • Swimming/shower facilities at the S.T. Morrison Aquatic Center

RAGBRAI is scheduled to arrive in Coralville on the evening of Friday, July 28th, and will continue its journey to Davenport the following day.

For the very first time, riders will have the unique opportunity to pass through the tunnels of Kinnick Stadium. Erickson mentioned that they are still in need of additional volunteers to assist at the rider’s stop on Saturday. Overall, this shows just how kind and respectful the residents of Coralville can be and that sometimes, you just can’t beat a bit of community spirit.

This stop will be even more appreciated by riders this year due to the servere heat, so we can assume that the beverage garden will be a welcome relief.

Residents are advised to plan ahead for Friday and Saturday, as heavy traffic and limited parking are expected during the event.
