Sioux City to enforce road closures over the weekend for cyclists

Car drivers have been warned that many public roads will be closed this weekend (July 21st to 23rd) due to the upcoming RAGBRAI cycling event. This is an annual race that will see an estimated 25,000 cyclists descend on the city, as well as roughly 40,000 guests with many of these coming to view the race.

As you would expect, key roads and routes will be closed to act as part of the cycling route. Some of these routes include Pearl Street, Larsen Park Road, and a few others. Therefore, road users have been advised to take alternate routes over the weekend and plan ahead.

Another one of the key roads impacted by the RAGBRAI is Tri-View Avenue which is a fairly long street. As a result, those using vehicles over the weekend will have to think twice about how they’re going to travel, with many roads shut for the upcoming race.

The RAGBRAI (The Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa) will take place from morning to evening with other events going on in the area. This means that if you’re planning to drive around Sioux City then you may also have to consider the best time of day to travel. For everyone competing in the race, good luck, have fun, and stay safe.
