Iowa’s governor Kim Reynolds recently announced a new slogan and logo for the state of Iowa which would be used immediately. The slogan reads, ‘Iowa: Freedom to flourish’ and showed a road leading into a sunset. According to Reynolds, she claimed that “Iowa’s profile is rising & it’s time we had a brand that shows it!”

This was announced on her personal Twitter page where she also went on to say, “State departments will adopt this logo as our primary brand identity – one that unites us as ONE TEAM & makes us more recognizable to the Iowans we serve & those we want to attract!” Clearly, Reynolds was excited by her announcement.

However, this Tweet was met with mixed reactions, with some backing her new branding of Iowa, while others were more critical of her words. Irrespective of your thoughts on Kim Reynolds, it’s fair to say that she’s been a pretty busy woman of late due to her recent involvement with Donald Trump. As a result, the state of Iowa has also had more attention than usual.

Anyway, it will be interesting to see this message being used in the future, and whether Iowa’s profile does rise, and whether it is genuinely reflected by the catchy slogan. Again, whether you’re pro or anti-Kim Reynolds, we can all agree that it would be nice to see Iowa grow and develop into a more prominent state.
