Chick-fil-A recently acquired a parcel of land in a prime San Jose location in a real estate transaction that hints at potential growth for the popular fast-food chain, as revealed by public records.

According to official documents filed on October 6th at the Santa Clara County Recorder’s Office, Chick-fil-A made an all-cash purchase of this property for $4.5 million. This strategic acquisition is situated at the intersection of Silver Creek Road and East Capitol Expressway, presently occupied by a surface parking lot along Silver Creek Road.

Property records indicate that the seller was Target, which operates a large retail store within the same complex. Notably, Target retained ownership of its store and an adjacent surface parking lot following this sale, as indicated in the grant deed and other county records.

Chick-fil-A has, in the past, successfully opened restaurants in various locations across San Jose and the wider Bay Area with minimal resistance. This specific property spans approximately three-fourths of an acre and is positioned adjacent to a Chevron gas station and a car wash at the corner of Silver Creek and East Capitol.

The San Jose shopping center, where Chick-fil-A now holds this property, is also home to several other eateries, such as The Boiling Crab and Pho Papa. Furthermore, there’s a Red Lobster restaurant located just a block away from this site. At this time, it is not known when this venue will officially open.
