This week, a billboard has emerged on Gov Hill that says ‘Incompetence has a price tag’ next to an image of Anchorage mayor Dave Bronson’s face. Bronson recently issued a state of emergency in response to the unprecedented snowfall that hit the city, with over 17 inches accumulating in just two days, and over 25 inches for the week. While this move was made to help the city cope with the harsh conditions, some critics have raised concerns about the mayor’s level of preparedness.

They argue that more could have been done to mitigate the impact of the snowfall and that the declaration of emergency came too late. It remains to be seen how the city will handle the aftermath of this severe weather event, and whether Mayor Bronson’s actions will be deemed sufficient.

The image first appeared on Reddit where the user captioned it by saying: ‘Went to my favorite pizza place, Ski & Benny, up on Gov Hill and saw this amazing sign set up just outside the JBER gate. I’m so sick of the revolving staff, mismanagement, and lawsuits that are destroying our town because of this man.’

Unfortunately for Bronson, the majority of replies felt the same. While this may not represent the whole of Anchorage, it clearly shows that a section of the city is getting fed up with their mayor.
