Restaurant and nightclub room to open in Tacoma

A new restaurant-nightclub is coming to Tacoma’s Stadium District called Manuscript & Dialogue. The venture is from the team behind The Boom Boom Room and Shake Shake Shake, and it will be located at 203 Tacoma Ave. S., taking over the space formerly occupied by Odin Brewing.

Odin Brewing closed in June after three years in business. The space is known for its high ceilings, brick walls, exposed beams, and views of Commencement Bay. Stadium Cafe, a casual coffee shop, will continue to operate below Manuscript & Dialogue, with its own entrance at 204 St. Helens Ave.

The new concept from Robert Stocker will be different from his other ventures. “It’s going to be a different vibe,” Stocker said. “It’s not going to be a retro ice cream parlor or a mid-century cocktail den. It’s going to be something quirky and natural.”

The restaurant will have a “tree chandelier” anchoring the dining room, jute ropes lining the open kitchen, and funky-colored lights. The menu will include American cuisine with some Pacific Northwest flair.

The nightclub, called Dialogue, will be accessible through the Manuscript entrance. It will operate Friday and Saturday nights and serve drinks through a pass-through bar window. The kitchen will wind down to mostly pizza after 10 p.m.

Manuscript & Dialogue is expected to open in early 2024.
