New 14,000-square-foot development to bring distillery, cafe & entertainment area
A new venue offering a blend of dining, live entertainment, and sustainable agriculture is set to arrive in Chamblee.
Block & Drum, expected to fully open in spring 2024, will introduce its concept with a café serving specialty third-wave coffee and select brunch items starting this December. This initial opening will also feature a micro-distillery and an in-house hydroponic farm.
The venue plans to host a variety of culinary talents in its container kitchens through short-term leases, ensuring a dynamic and evolving lineup of both established and emerging local chefs. After opening, this will be one of the biggest entertainment venues in Atlanta, so unsurprisingly, locals are excited about its impending opening.
Spanning 14,000 square feet, Block & Drum’s design is set to stand out, incorporating repurposed shipping containers and a renovated industrial space. Central to the venue will be the distillery and a dual-purpose tasting room that will also serve as a vinyl listening lounge. Additionally, a rainwater harvesting system is included in the design to minimize the venue’s environmental impact.
An outdoor courtyard equipped with a main stage will provide a versatile space for diverse live events, ranging from musical performances to comedy shows. Unfortunately, this won’t take place until next year. Nonetheless, the venue is coming together nicely.
