Choc O Pain Bakery closes due to Unsatisfactory Sanitation report

A recent image uploaded to Reddit showed how Choc O Pain’s downtown location had been closed due to a failed inspection from the New Jersey Department of Health. Here, the notice on the door read: ‘Sanitary inspection report. Unsatisfactory.’ This was also signed and dated, showing that the bakery clearly wasn’t up to the city’s hygiene standards.

Based on this image, it is not known when the bakery will re-open. However, in an interesting turn of events their official Instagram claimed: “Please note! Our Jersey Avenue location will be CLOSED through Monday for some maintenance repairs.”

It should be noted that Choc O Pain offers two other locations in Jersey City, as well as one in Hoboken. Based on the red sign, it is not known when Choc O Pain will re-open again. However, you would assume that they would have to pass some kind of rigorous hygiene testing to be allowed to serve food to the public.

Founded in 2012, Choc O Pain serves French food and has since expanded to other locations in the region. As of the time of writing this, the chain has not yet responded to the Unsatisfactory Sanitation report however, it goes without saying that for any cafe or restaurant, receiving a notice like this is not a good look when it comes to customer relations and appearances.
