Plano Sidewalk Construction leaves annoyed resident with broken sprinklers

Yesterday, a sidewalk construction job ended with an annoyed local as their sprinklers were left broken in the process. Here, a new sidewalk had been placed outside their yard. However, upon closer expectation, this also damaged three of their sprinklers. According to the Plano resident, the construction crew did not leave a note or contact them. Instead, they seemingly left despite causing damage and a whole lot of inconvenience.

As seen in the image below, the sprinkler is damaged after possibly being hit by concrete or some kind of tool. Speaking on the incident on the website Reddit, the user wrote: “Hi guys, So I was checking my property after the construction workers seemed to be finished working on my part of the sidewalk and they broke 3 of my sprinklers. They left no note or anything for me to contact to have them fix it. I found the fix it plano app but where can I call to make sure they know I need this fixed.”

According to others, they had experienced similar in the past. However, it’s not all bad news as it turns out that the city is historically quite good at dealing with such issues. Replying to his comment, one user said: “It happened to me in 2021. I found the Plano PM over the project and he called the concrete company’s PM. Within a week they had a crew on site to fix all my irrigation damage (five sprinkler heads)”

This shows that sometimes honest mistakes do happen. Having said this, if you get in contact and get your voice heard, it seems like Plano is more than accommodating which is a nice thing to know.
