Ingersoll Avenue road works frustrate Des Moines locals

Recently, locals have taken to social media to speak about the ongoing road works taking place on Ingersoll Avenue in Des Moines. This is because the area is undergoing a subsequent phase of deconstruction.

It may come as a surprise to some, but the Avenues are essentially established for the purpose of disrupting Ingersoll Avenue’s surface on two occasions every year.

Following a six-week period of road jackhammering and a subsequent two-month interval for concrete repouring, there will be only a brief span of time before we once again cordon off the road to commence deconstruction for the upcoming autumn season. However, this subsequent deconstruction will take place subsequent to the completion of the road’s repavement subsequent to this summer’s efforts.

Furthermore, the road’s deconstruction in the autumn of 2024 cannot commence until the road has been repaved subsequent to the deconstruction in the spring of the same year. Repaving activities typically occupy the entirety of either summer or winter.

During the interim periods between these projects, the city will have a limited timeframe to gauge oncoming vehicular traffic as vehicles exit parking lots along Ingersoll.

So until then, locals will have to grin and bare it. On a positive note, when this is completed next year it will make the area better and will offer a more improved, efficient transport route as a result of the current work.
