A two-vehicle crash on Iowa Highway 14, north of Marshalltown sent two people – William Murphy of Waterloo and David Muhlena of Union – to the hospital Tuesday afternoon.
According to the Iowa State Patrol report, Murphy, driving a 2018 Chevrolet K2500, crossed the center line. Muhlena, driving a 2000 Honda Civic, veered off the road to avoid the Chevrolet, but both vehicles still collided head-on.
Murphy was transported to UnityPoint – Marshalltown. Muhlena was taken to Methodist Des Moines. Both drivers were wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
Highway 14 was closed for a period of time on Tuesday while officials cleared the scene.
