Roland-Story sweeps host Perry

A strong Roland-Story team posted a 3-0 win over Perry in HOIC volleyball Thursday.

The Norse won on scores of 25-15, 25-11, and 25-19. The guests saw their record climb to 15-4 overall and 4-0 in conference play with the win while Perry fell to 1-13, 0-3.

Peyton Tunink had six kills for the Jayettes, with Ashley Cerna, Kathryn West, and Jayna Kenney producing two kills apiece. The offense received six assists from Kenney and also from Taylor Atwell.

Addison Huntington’s nine digs led the defensive effort, with Atwell and Cerna having six digs apiece. Peyton Tunink had three digs, Kenney and Callie Steva two each, and West and Maci Tunink one apiece.

Atwell served 10-of-10 with two aces, with Peyton Tunink 7-7-1, and Cerna 6-7-1. Huntington was 7-of-9 behind the line, Steva 4-of-6, Kenney 3-of-3, and Kimberly Castillo 1-of-1.

Perry will resume action Saturday with a trip to the South Tama County Tournament.
