A Celebration of Life service for Loren Fisher, 71, of Marshalltown and formerly of Perry will be held Saturday, June 26 at 10 a.m. at the Journey Church at 700 E. Olive St. in Marshalltown. A gathering of family and friends will follow the service at Loren’s beloved garage at his home.
Loren died Saturday, June 5, 2021, at his vacation home in Florida.
Loren Dean Fisher was born Sept. 12, 1949, in Perry, Iowa, to Paul William Fisher and Shirley L. (Orman) Fisher.
He grew up in Perry and attended Perry High School.
Loren worked as a bridge foreman for the Union Pacific Railroad until his retirement.
He loved singing and playing guitar and piano and telling stories.
Loren was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Shirley; and brother, Rowland Fisher.
He is survived by his wife, Bev Fisher; daughter, Lorene (Tommy) Burns of Marshalltown; grandson, Max Burns of Marshalltown; brother, Larry (Cathy) Fisher of Des Moines; and sister, Kathy (Don) Wyant of Nebraska.
