Suspect on the Loose After Bank Robbery and Shooting in Lu Verne, DCI Says 2

LU VERNE, Iowa – Several law enforcement agencies are on the hunt for a bank robbery suspect involved in a shooting in Lu Verne Wednesday morning.

Mitch Mortvedt with the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation confirms to Iowa Media that a bank in town was robbed sometime after 9:00 a.m. There was a shooting in connection with the robbery, but Mortvedt was not certain whether anyone was injured.

The suspect in the bank robbery did get away and officials are searching for them.

No information about a description of the suspect has been released.

The Kossuth and Humboldt County Sheriff’s Offices are assisting the DCI in the search as well as the Iowa State Patrol.
